When installing, the safety and quality of the grinding wheel must be tested first. The method is to tap the side of the grinding wheel with a velvet hammer (or a pen), and the sound is crisp and no problem.

Positioning problem The location of the grinder is the first issue we must consider during the installation process. Only when a reasonable and appropriate location is selected can we perform other tasks. It is forbidden to install the grinder in a place directly facing the nearby equipment and operators or where people often pass by. Generally, a special grinder room should be set up in a larger workshop. If it is really impossible to set up a dedicated grinder room due to the topography of the plant, a protective baffle with a height of not less than 1.8m should be installed on the front of the grinder, and the baffle must be firm and effective.

Balance problem The unbalance of the grinding wheel is mainly caused by the inaccurate manufacture and installation of the grinding wheel, so that the center of the grinding wheel does not coincide with the rotary axis. The harm caused by imbalance is mainly manifested in two aspects. On the one hand, when the grinding wheel rotates at a high speed, it will cause vibration, which is easy to cause polygonal vibration marks on the surface of the workpiece. On the other hand, imbalance accelerates the vibration of the spindle and the wear of the bearing. Sometimes it will cause the rupture of the grinding wheel and even cause an accident. Therefore, it is required that the sand office building with a height greater than or equal to 200mm should be statically balanced after the chuck is installed. After the grinding wheel is reshaped or found to be unbalanced during work, the static balance should be repeated.

Matching problem The matching problem mainly refers to the installation matching problem of the chuck and the grinding wheel. According to the requirements of the standard, the diameter of the grinding wheel chuck shall not be less than 1/3 of the diameter of the installed grinding wheel, and correspondingly, it is stipulated that the grinding wheel should be replaced when the grinding wheel is worn to the diameter of 10mm larger than the diameter of the chuck. In this way, there is a matching problem between the chuck and the grinding wheel. Otherwise, the "big horse-drawn trolley" will cause waste of equipment and materials; the "small horse-drawn trolley" does not meet the safety requirements and is likely to cause personal accidents. Therefore, the reasonable matching of the chuck and the grinding wheel can save equipment and reduce materials on the one hand; on the other hand, it meets the requirements of safe operation. In addition, between the grinding wheel and the chuck, a soft pad with a diameter of 2mm larger than that of the chuck and a thickness of 1mm~2mm should be installed.

Protection problem The protective cover is the main protective device of the grinder. Its function is: when the grinding wheel is damaged during work, it can effectively cover the debris of the grinding wheel and ensure the safety of personnel. The shape of the protective cover of the grinding wheel is round and square, and the maximum opening angle is not allowed to exceed 90°; the material of the protective cover is steel with a tensile strength of not less than 415N/mm2. When replacing a new grinding wheel, the protective cover must be installed firmly and reliably, and the protective cover must not be disassembled or discarded at will.

The quiet shield is one of the main protective accessories of the grinder. The opening of the protective cover above the horizontal plane of the spindle is greater than or equal to 30 (this device must be installed. Its main function is to shield the flying in the grinding process, so as not to hurt Operator. It is installed at the positive end of the opening of the protective cover, the width should be greater than the width of the protective cover of the grinding wheel, and should be firmly fixed on the protective cover. In addition, the gap between the circumferential surface of the grinding wheel and the baffle should be less than 6mm.

Bracket problem Bracket is one of the commonly used accessories for grinding wheel installation. According to regulations, the installation of grinding wheels with a diameter of more than 150mm must be equipped with an adjustable bracket. The distance between the grinding wheel and the bracket should be less than 1/2 of the small shape of the workpiece to be ground, but should not exceed 3mm. Grounding problem The grinder uses a power line, so the casing of the equipment must have a good grounding protection device. This is also one of the important factors that easily cause accidents.
